Rick and Alice Garlock’s first co-authored release is Spirit Unbroken; the two sides of love.  It is a work that is both tragic and triumphant.  A true story, it is based on Alice’s 50 year struggle to find her maternal family half-a-world-away, while enduring a dark and demeaning childhood.  The book touches poverty, racism, prejudice, peer pressure, abuse, and religion; still finding the strength to offer inspirational actions and miraculous results among unforgivable acts of cruelty.
